We compared line profile images that were measured on the DVIA-T placed inside the acoustic enclosure and placed on the pneumatic vibration isolation table.
The comparison of the line profile images demonstrated that the noise originating from the pneumatic vibration isolation table were 10 times bigger than the noise coming from the DVIA-T.
The image was obtained at 0.162 nm.
We've measured the vibration levels on the normal table and DAEIL's acoustic enclosure to examine the effects of the acoustic enclosure.
AFM is extremely sensitive to the acoustic noises, therefore, using AFM on the normal tables is not recommended.
Without the acoustic enclosure, the measured variance was ±0.07 nm when the mean was 0.236 nm. Wih our acoustic enclosure, the measured variance was ±0.02nm when the mean was 0.140 nm. Thus, When AFM is used with DAEIL's acoustic enclosure, the less vibration level appears.
